The origins of the firm started as Robert Matthews & Co
1940's
During the Second World War the company became known as Walker Croft and Jarvis
May 1993
A lettings agency partnership between Michael Alan Sears and David John Comley was begun, taking the name of Sealeys from both partners' surnames.
1994
David Comley left the partnership and soon thereafter Sealeys became a limited company
1995
From being office based, Sealeys opened its first branch shop at 197 Parrock Street, Gravesend – then Gravesend’s only residential lettings company.
1997
Sealeys graduated into becoming an Estate Agency, soon thereafter joining The Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) and The National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA)
1998
Sealeys becomes the first estate agent to run buy-to-let seminars held at Ebbsfleet United’s football stadium at Stonebridge Road in the beginning of the first wave of buy-to-let investors.
2003
Sealeys opened its second branch in Pelham Road South, Northfleet.
2004
Anthony Cahill and Michael Jarvis, partners of Walker Jarvis split from Walker Croft and Jarvis
2006
Sealeys Gravesend Branch moved from Parrock Street to Clive Road, opposite Gravesend’s railway station and part of the Thamesgate Shopping Centre.
2008
Sealeys enter the Gravesend Reporter (Archant) Newspapers Property Awards and win two top awards – Estate Agent of the Year and Letting Agent of the Year.
Sealeys become the only agent in Gravesend to produce in-house Home Information Packs (HIPS) and both residential and commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
2009
Sealeys win The Daily Mail’s Kent Estate Agency of the Year Award (two entries in two years and winners both times). Sealeys had not before or since entered any property awards.
2010
Sealeys begin our Commercial Sales and Lettings Department dealing with retail, offices, industrial units, yards and land across Gravesham, Dartford, Bexley and Medway.
2012
Sealeys gain commercial agency from Gravesham Borough Council and the St Georges Shopping Centre in Gravesend (something no local agent has achieved before or since).
2017
Following a thirteen month building project Sealeys move into our new £1 million Gravesend branch and purpose built fifteen office business centre at 184-185 Parrock Street, Gravesend.
2018
Sealeys broaden their commercial agency operations to include covering the discipline of Business Transfer Agency
Sealeys are named finalists in the Gravesham Business Awards.
2019
Sealeys aquire New Ash Green lettings
2021
Sealeys merge with Walker Jarvis to become Sealeys Walker Jarvis
2022
Managing Director, Michael Alan Sears, elected as Board Director of Propertymark, the leading membership body for property agents.
